Kirara Basso
The Kirara Basso (キララ・バッソ) was a line of Sony Super Trinitron televisions released in 1991. The series name combined "Kirara" (きらら), a Japanese word suggesting sparkling or brilliant imagery, with "Basso" (Italian for "bass"), referring to the integrated speaker system's enhanced low-frequency response.

Technology
The Kirara Basso series introduced Sony's "Super Trinitron" tube technology, which achieved a flatter screen surface than previous Trinitron generations while maintaining excellent focus across the entire display area.
Marketing
The series was famously marketed with Michael Jackson as celebrity endorser, including a special promotional release of his single "Black or White" in Japan.
Awards
The Kirara Basso series won the Good Design Award for Audio Visual Products in 1992.
