Description

The Ferguson Videostar 3V01 is a portable VHS video cassette recorder introduced in the United Kingdom in 1979. It is the Ferguson-branded clone of the JVC HR-4100 EG, sourced from JVC and identical apart from branding. The Ferguson 3V01 was part of the "Videostar" product line and was designed to be used with a separate video camera for location recording. A matching tuner timer (Ferguson 3C03) and camera power supply (Ferguson 3V01C) were available as accessories, equivalent to the JVC TU-41EG and AA-P41EG respectively. The complete kit included the VCR, tuner timer, camera power supply, camera, cables, carry case, and manuals. While the JVC originals were available from 1978, the Ferguson Videostar clones appeared in the UK market from 1979.
