== Overview ==
The '''JVC D-Series''' is a line of consumer CRT televisions produced by JVC from 1999 to 2005. The D-Series became popular among retro gaming enthusiasts for their component video inputs, slot-mask tubes with an "arcadey" look, and relatively affordable prices compared to professional monitors.
== Chassis Generations ==
The D-Series spans three main chassis generations, each with different capabilities and tube options.
=== Early-Era (1999–2000): Dx00/Dx01 ===
Uses the '''JVC JCC1007A''' jungle IC. These are considered the best D-Series models for:
* RGB moddability
* Minimal raster bloom
* 2-line comb filter
* Better build quality
* 5W speakers on all sizes
Models: AV-27D200, AV-32D200, AV-27D500, AV-32D500, AV-36D500, AV-27D800, AV-32D800, AV-36D800, AV-27D201, AV-32D201, AV-36D201, AV-27D501, AV-32D501, AV-36D501
'''Red push fix:''' In service menu, set '''DEMO AX RY''' and '''CMP D AX R''' to "0"
=== Middle-Era (2001): Dx02 ===
Uses the '''Toshiba TB1253AN''' jungle IC. Still RGB moddable with some trade-offs:
* 3-line comb filter (improved)
* Cost-cutting begins
* Silver cases introduced
* 27" speakers reduced to 1.2W
* 20" models introduced with 1W speakers
Models: AV-20D202, AV-27D202, AV-32D202, AV-36D202, etc.
'''Red push fix:''' Set '''R Y GAIN''', '''CD MATRIX''', '''CMP R Y GAIN''', and '''CMP CD MATRIX''' to "000"
'''PAL support:''' Set service menu option '''V 48HZ''' to "0" to enable PAL video
=== Late-Era (2002–2004): Dx03/Dx04/Dx05 ===
Uses '''TM8812C''' jungle IC variants. '''NOT RGB moddable.'''
Models: AV-20D303, AV-27D303, AV-32D303, AV-36D303, AV-27D304, etc.
'''Red push fix:''' 2002-2003 models use '''NTSC MAT''' set to "000". Later 2003-2004 models (FE2/FE5 chassis) have no red push fix available.

* '''A90LLD361X''' (Panasonic)
* '''A90AKB50X''' (M.T.) – Post-2003
== Recommendations ==
For best results, seek out:
* '''1999-2000 models''' (Dx00/Dx01 chassis) for RGB mod capability
* '''27" models with Samsung tubes''' (S) over RCA ADT tubes (R)
* '''36" models''' consistently have good tubes regardless of brand
* Early AEG tubes (27") are superior but rare
Tubes to avoid:
* RCA ADT and AEJ family tubes on 27" models tend to have more issues
* Late-era chassis (2002+) cannot be RGB modded
