Description
The Sony PVW-2800P is the PAL version of the PVW-2800, a mid-range Betacam SP studio edit recorder introduced by Sony in 1992. It provides many of the advanced features of the BVW series at a more accessible price point, making it widely adopted by post-production facilities, broadcasters, and corporate video departments.
The PVW-2800P records exclusively on Betacam SP metal particle tapes and plays back both SP and original oxide Betacam cassettes in L-size (100+ minutes at PAL speed) and S-size formats. Two longitudinal audio channels with Dolby C noise reduction are provided.
Built-in editing capabilities include insert and assemble modes with auto preview/review, audio split editing with independent IN and OUT memories, and frame-accurate operation via RS-422 serial control. The addition of S-Video I/O and optional U-matic DUB output improves integration flexibility compared to the BVW series.
