Description

The Sony BVW-75P is the PAL version of the BVW-75, the flagship Betacam SP studio edit recorder with Dynamic Tracking introduced by Sony in 1987. It is widely regarded as the workhorse of the analogue Betacam SP format and remained the standard edit master recorder at broadcast facilities worldwide for over a decade.

The BVW-75P records on Betacam SP metal particle tapes and plays back both SP and original oxide Betacam cassettes in both L-size (100+ minutes at PAL speed) and S-size formats. Dynamic Tracking provides broadcast-quality noiseless playback from -1 to +2 times normal speed. The DMC function memorizes tape speed trajectories for automated variable-speed editing sequences.

Four audio channels are available: two longitudinal tracks with Dolby C noise reduction and two AFM tracks. Built-in editing capabilities include insert and assemble modes with auto preview/review, audio split editing, and frame-accurate operation via RS-422 serial control.
