Description

The JVC HR-S5000U was a 1988 S-VHS format VCR featuring JVC's DA4 (double azimuth 4) head design and VHS Hi-Fi stereo audio with MTS stereo decoder. S-VHS offered significantly improved picture quality over standard VHS with over 400 lines of horizontal resolution. Features included pause/still, fast-forward/rewind search, 5-speed slow motion, flying erase head for clean edits, index function, and on-screen display. The digital tuner supported 181 channels. A wireless remote control was included along with an 8-event 14-day programmable timer. The unit featured S-Video output for maximum picture quality.
