Prime Image Inc. was an American manufacturer of professional video processing equipment. The company produced time base correctors, frame synchronizers, and related signal processing products for the broadcast and post-production industries.
Prime Image is known for the Excel series of TBC/synchronizer units, which were marketed as high-performance, full-transcoding signal processors. The company also produced the 50-series product family — including the Prime Image TBC SYNC+, Prime Image 50II, Prime Image 2X, and Prime Image 50III — which spanned single-channel NTSC TBCs through dual-channel and SDI-capable frame synchronizers.
