Description
The Sony UVW-1800P is the PAL version of the UVW-1800, the top-of-the-line Betacam SP studio edit recorder in Sony's budget UVW series, introduced in the mid-1990s. It is the most fully featured UVW deck, combining recording capability, RS-422 editing control, and LTC input/output in a compact 4U package.
The UVW-1800P records exclusively on Betacam SP metal particle tapes and plays back both SP and original oxide Betacam cassettes in both L-size (100+ minutes at PAL speed) and S-size formats. Two longitudinal audio channels with Dolby C noise reduction are provided.
The RS-422 9-pin interface enables frame-accurate insert and assemble editing on video, audio channels 1 and 2, and time code tracks. The built-in time code reader can regenerate LTC, and both input and output connectors are provided for flexible time code routing. Comprehensive I/O includes composite, S-Video, and component connections via both Sony 12-pin DUB and BNC connectors.
