Description

Magnavox combination DVD recorder and VHS video cassette recorder, built by Funai for the North American market. Records to DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD-R in +VR format. The Magnavox ZV427MG9 is a combination DVD recorder and VHS video cassette recorder sold in North America under the Magnavox brand and built by Funai. It was one of the last DVD/VHS recorder combos on the US market and is sought after for transferring VHS tapes to disc, since it can dub from tape to DVD in one operation.

The disc recorder writes DVD+RW, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD-R, always in the +VR (video recording) format — DVD-RW and DVD-R media are recorded in +VR mode rather than the DVD-Video or DVD-VR formats. Video is MPEG at a 13.5 MHz sampling frequency, with Dolby Digital audio sampled at 48 kHz. The tape deck is a four-head VHS transport.

Front-panel jacks provide a composite and an S-Video input with stereo audio for connecting a camcorder. The rear panel adds a second composite and S-Video input pair, composite and S-Video outputs, component video output, two stereo audio outputs, a coaxial digital audio output and an HDMI output.

The unit runs from 120 V 60 Hz and draws 30 W in use and 3.3 W in standby. It measures 435 × 99.5 × 260 mm (w/h/d) and weighs 4.3 kg.
