Overview

The JVC C-1936 is a 19-inch color television from JVC's mid-1980s "Telstar" consumer line, manufactured in 1986 with a tinted A48JPZ60X picture tube. It uses the Advanced FX chassis, providing improved component integration for reliability and picture quality.[1]

The C-1936 features a 112-channel frequency synthesizer tuner with direct cable reception of VHF, UHF, and cable bands (Sub-Mid, Mid, and Super) without requiring external converters. It includes a full-function infrared remote control with 10-key random-access channel selection, a green on-screen display for channel number, audio level, and timer settings, and a 4-way sleep timer settable for 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes. Three tuning modes are provided: Choice tuning for three preset favorite channels, Return tuning for alternating between two channels, and Auto Channel-Up for sequential scanning.[1] The set had an MSRP of $379.[2]

Audio output is rated at 1.5 watts through a single 8cm (3-1/4") round speaker. The set measures 20-1/8"W × 20"D × 19-1/2"H and weighs 45.5 lbs.[3]
