Overview

The JVC C-1336 is a 13-inch personal color monitor/receiver from JVC's TELSTAR television line, built around the VX chassis.[1] It carried an MSRP of $299.00.

The VX chassis was designed to deliver reliable picture quality in a compact form factor, with specialized video circuitry for improved performance.[2] The C-1336 features an 82-channel electronic tuner covering VHF channels 2–13 and UHF channels 14–83, with a 14-channel preset system that allows direct-access channel selection via the infrared remote control.[2][3]

The full-function infrared remote provides control over power, volume, timer settings, on-screen display, and 14-digit direct-access channel selection.[2] A multi on-screen display shows channel number, video mode, and audio level in digital format. A built-in sleep timer provides automatic shut-off after 60 minutes, with an LED indicator on the front panel.[2]

Audio output is 1.2 watts mono through a single 8cm (3-1/4") round speaker.[3] A rear AV input terminal accepts composite video (1Vp-p, 75Ω) and mono audio for connection to a VCR or other video source.[2][3] A built-in combination rabbit ears antenna with loop element is mounted on the cabinet.[1]

The C-1336 measures 14-5/8" W × 15" D × 13-7/8" H and weighs 22.7 lbs.[3]
