Overview
The JVC BM-H1900SU is a 19-inch color production monitor from JVC's BM-H series, introduced in February 1996 for professional broadcast and video production environments.[1][2] Last listed at $2,239, it was the larger sibling to the 13-inch JVC BM-H1310SU in JVC's discontinued broadcast monitor lineup.
The monitor features a 19-inch CRT with SMPTE-C phosphors, in-line guns, and a trio-dot shadow mask with a 0.40mm dot pitch, delivering more than 750 lines of horizontal resolution.[3] It incorporates a beam current feedback system for long-term stability and outstanding color reproduction, with selectable color temperature at 6500K and 9300K.[2]
The BM-H1900SU supports 4:3 to 16:9 aspect ratio switching and multi-format, multi-system operation compatible with NTSC 3.58, PAL, and NTSC 4.43 standards.[1] The press release described the unit as having universal power (100–240V AC, 50/60Hz), though the specifications page lists 120V AC.[1][3] Its professional input complement includes two composite video channels on BNC, one S-Video (Y/C) channel on 4-pin Mini-DIN, and a switchable component (Y/B-Y/R-Y for D-9/Betacam/MII formats) or RGB analog input on BNC — all featuring bridge connections for signal loop-through.[3] An external sync (EXT. SYNC) BNC input with loop-through is provided for studio genlock applications, along with a REMOTE/TALLY DIN 8-pin port for system integration.[3] Three audio channels on RCA with bridge connections support the video inputs, and a built-in 9cm × 5cm oval speaker provides 1.6W mono audio monitoring.[3]
Professional features include CPU-based setup control, on-screen menu operation with front knob controls, wireless remote control capability with an ID system, and standard production functions including Blue Check, Color Off, Pulse Cross, and Under-scan.[2] An optional RM-C550W wireless remote control was available as an accessory ($179).[4]
The monitor requires 120V AC at 50/60Hz and draws 0.9A.[3] It measures 449mm × 431mm × 511mm (W × H × D) and weighs 66.0 lbs (30.0 kg).[3]
