Description

The Sony SL-S600 was a 50/60Hz dual-frequency model similar to the SL-390 but with some differences. It supported both 50Hz and 60Hz AC power at 120V for markets with non-standard power frequencies. Compared to the SL-390, it featured a minor cosmetic facelift, added slow motion playback capability, but lost the sharpness slider and color intensity switch. It was a SuperBeta mono VCR on the 711B3 chassis with a 148-channel digital tuner, BetaScan picture search, freeze-frame, and the RMT-156 wireless remote with a 1-event, 7-day timer. It was the only American-market Betamax to carry the S designation in its model number for the domestic NTSC line.
