Description
The NEC (Nippon Electric Company) PVC-700 was similar to the Sony SL-C5 in features. It came with a wired remote control connecting to a 5-pin DIN socket on the front panel. The VCR had cue, review, and pause modes — and unlike the SL-C5, no colour mute transistor was employed, so full colour was available during trick play. Line input/output was via RCA phono sockets. The deck was a cut-down version of the SL-C5's mechanism with fewer belts, using mostly Sony-based components for the RF and tuner circuitry. The clock module used the same NEC-designed 4-digit display tube as the SL-C5.
