Digital Processing Systems DPS-235
Description
The Digital Processing Systems DPS-235 is a rackmount transcoding time base corrector and frame synchronizer designed for use with VHS, S-VHS, Hi8, and other consumer and prosumer tape formats. Available in single-channel (DPS-235) and dual-channel (DPS-235D) configurations, it provides composite and S-Video (Y/C) inputs and outputs with true luminance bandwidth exceeding 5 MHz.
The unit features a sophisticated 3-line adaptive comb filter decoder which accurately separates luminance and chrominance from composite signals while maintaining full bandwidth. Internal processing is performed in component 4:2:2 digital format.
The DPS-235 can function as a general-purpose video synchronizer with genlock capability for integration into larger video systems. Film mode provides a simulated 24 fps look by implementing 3:2 pulldown processing. Red and blue color balance controls allow correction of white balance errors from source tapes.
Front panel controls provide access to all proc amp and configuration functions including video level, black level, chroma level, chroma phase, wide/narrow vertical blanking, genlock termination, Y/C vertical delay, Y/C horizontal delay, and comb filter mode selection.
The DPS-235 is compatible with the RC-2000 and RC-2001 multi-channel remote controls, which can be daisy-chained together for distributed control of multiple DPS products.
