Description

The Sony SL-F90 was a Super Beta machine that, like the SL-HF950, supported two modes of Super Betamax operation: standard mode using high-grade oxide tapes and Pro mode working with the PRO-X series of tape. All in all a fabulous machine — all it lacked was Hi-Fi sound. Features included On Screen Graphics, goto zero, a picture sharpness control, and perfect pause (still) mode. The tape counter could be read as a real-time counter. The SL-F90 was a PAL-only model; the closest NTSC Super Beta models without Hi-Fi were the SL-HF600 and SL-HF750.
