Description

The Prime Image 50III is a professional digital time base corrector and frame synchronizer, and the most capable unit in Prime Image's 50-series product family. It supports composite, analog component (Y/R-Y/B-Y), and serial digital (SDI) signal processing in a single 1U rackmount enclosure, with both NTSC and PAL operation.

The component signal path supports selectable SMPTE/EBU and Betacam component standards, accommodating both broadcast and professional tape formats. Each input has independently adjustable proc amp controls accessible from the front panel, and automatic gain control (AGC) can be switched on or off.

Standard features include ultra-stable freeze (frame or field), variable rate strobe, and a color bar generator on the composite video output that can operate full-time or be selected on demand. The unit occupies a single rack unit (1U) in a standard 19-inch rack.

The 50III represents the top of the 50-series line alongside the single-channel composite/Y/C 50II and the dual-channel 2X.
