Description
The Zenith VR-9800 is a portable top-loading Betamax VCR from 1981, similar to the Sony SL-2000. Manufactured by Sony for Zenith, it features 2 video heads, mono audio, and comprehensive playback features including pause/still, Betascan, frame advance, slow motion, X1 and X2 speed in both directions, and audio dub capability. It includes a head drum heater for improved cold-weather operation. The companion VRT-9850 tuner/timer unit (similar to the Sony TT-2000) provides an electronic tuner with 14 pushbutton presets for VHF/UHF channels, a wireless remote control, and a 4-event 14-day programmable timer.
