Description

The Sony SL-HF870D was the successor to the SL-HF860D, introduced in 1989 on the 711B3 chassis. It added a Tape Stabilizer System for improved playback of older or worn tapes and featured distinctive wooden rosewood side panels. Like its predecessor, it offered Beta Hi-Fi stereo audio, a 155-channel digital tuner, digital effects, synchro edit, and slow motion playback. It supported SuperBeta recording in βII and βIII with playback of βI, βIs, βII, and βIII. It came with the RMT-160 wireless infrared remote and a 6-event, 7-day programmable timer.
