Description

The Sony LV-1901 was the very first Betamax, released in 1975 at a suggested retail price of $2,495. It combined a 19-inch Sony Trinitron television with an SL-6200 Betamax VCR in an elegant teakwood console cabinet. It featured a built-in 24-hour timer, a second TV tuner for recording one channel while watching another, and a camera input. It could only record and play at the original βI (X1) speed. The LV-1901 is widely credited with launching the home video revolution.
