Description

The Panasonic NV-8600B was the first VHS video cassette recorder introduced into the United Kingdom under the Panasonic brand name, released in 1978. It is the British PAL version of the NV-8600 series, which was closely related to the RCA VBT200 — the first VCR produced by Panasonic (Matsushita Electric) for the North American market in 1977. While the RCA VBT200 used a mechanical rotary tuner, the NV-8600 series featured push-button tuner controls. The NV-8610B variant, also sold in the UK, was externally very similar apart from tuner differences. The "B" suffix denotes the British PAL specification.
