Description

The Sony SL-C6 was Sony's first front-loading PAL Betamax VCR, released in 1982. It was Sony's attempt at a mass-market machine — basic in features but very stylish in design. Interestingly, it was produced in two cosmetic variants: the Mark I and Mark II, both introduced in 1982, which differed mainly in the styling of the front panel. The dual-standard SL-T6ME was based on the SL-C6. Regional variants included the SL-C6ES (Scandinavia) among others. There was no direct NTSC equivalent; the American front-loading models of this era included the SL-5000, SL-5010, and SL-5100.
