Description
The Sony SL-T7ME was the international multi-standard version of the SL-J7 (Japan), with a tuner and styling more similar to the SL-C5. Released in late 1980 to early 1981, it could record and play in both PAL and SECAM, and also play back NTSC 4.43 (NTSC signal crammed into a roughly PAL-compatible form — not American NTSC 3.58). Like the SL-J7, it featured linear stereo sound and BetaScan picture search (in B/W only). It also featured audio dubbing and a 14-pin K-connector camera socket for use with Sony Beta cameras. The "ME" suffix typically denotes Middle Eastern market variants. Available variants included the SL-T7ME and SL-T7MER, with the optional RM-75T wired remote control. The SL-T7ME shared the "C" chassis with the SL-C5, SL-C7, and related models.
