The JVC HR-D440U was a 1988 front-loading VCR featuring JVC's DA4 (double azimuth 4) head design for superior special effects with mono audio. It supported three playback speeds (SP, LP, EP) and two recording speeds (SP, EP). Features included pause/still, variable-speed fast-forward/rewind search, X2 speed playback, and index function. A wireless remote control was included along with a 4-event 14-day programmable timer.
