Description

The JVC HR-2200U was a portable VCR system from 1981, consisting of a compact VCR deck and a separate TU-22 tuner/timer unit. This two-piece design allowed the VCR to be used portably while the tuner/timer remained stationary. Features included pause/still, fast-forward/rewind search, variable slow motion, and frame advance. The electronic tuner in the TU-22 unit offered 12 pushbutton presets for VHF/UHF channels. A wired remote control was included along with a 1-event programmable timer. The top-loading VCR deck supported audio dubbing.
