Description

The Sony BVW-60P is the PAL version of the BVW-60, a Betacam SP studio player introduced by Sony in 1987. It is a playback-only deck designed as a source machine in editing suites and playback facilities.

The BVW-60P plays back both Betacam SP metal particle tapes and original oxide Betacam cassettes in both L-size (100+ minutes at PAL speed) and S-size (30 minutes) formats. Four audio channels are available: two longitudinal tracks with Dolby C noise reduction and two AFM tracks offering wider frequency response (20 Hz to 20 kHz) and greater dynamic range.

The built-in TBC with advanced digital dropout compensation provides stable broadcast-quality output directly from the deck without external processing. A built-in character generator can superimpose timecode, CTL counter, function status, and shuttle speed data via Video Output 3. The RS-422 9-pin serial interface allows integration into editing systems as a source/player deck.
