The NEC AccuSync 70 is a 17-inch multisync colour computer monitor with a 16-inch viewable image, the middle model of NEC's AccuSync range alongside the 15-inch AccuSync 50 and the 19-inch AccuSync 90, with which it shares a user's manual.[1]
The picture tube has 90-degree deflection, a 0.27 mm trio dot pitch and a 1210 mm screen radius, using a medium-short-persistence phosphor behind an Invar shadow mask. The screen carries a multi-layered anti-static coating, a semi-tint face and NEC's OptiClear surface treatment.[1]
The factory-set active display area is 310 × 232 mm, extending to 325 × 244 mm at full scan depending on the signal timing used; neither figure includes the border area.[1]
Features
Synchronisation is automatic over 31–70 kHz horizontally and 55–120 Hz vertically. Supported modes run from 640 × 480 at 60–120 Hz through 800 × 600 at 55–110 Hz, 832 × 624 at 55–106 Hz, 1024 × 768 at 55–87 Hz and 1152 × 870 at 55–77 Hz up to 1280 × 1024 at 55–66 Hz. NEC-Mitsubishi cited 85 Hz as the recommended refresh rate for optimal display performance.[1]
Video input is analog at 0.7 Vp-p into 75 ohms, with separate TTL-level sync accepted at either polarity on both the horizontal and vertical lines, so the display colour depth is limited only by the graphics card.[1]
The power supply covers AC 100–120 V and 200–240 V at 50–60 Hz, rated 1.5 A at 100–240 V. NEC cautions that with the worldwide supply the mains cord must match the local outlet voltage, and that UK users need a BS-approved cord with a moulded plug carrying a 5 A fuse.[1]
The monitor measures 403 × 420 × 418 mm (W × H × D) and weighs 15.4 kg.[1]
