Description
The Sony UVW-1700P is the PAL version of the UVW-1700, a Betacam SP single-frame recorder introduced by Sony in the mid-1990s. It is specifically designed for recording computer-generated graphics and animation frame by frame onto Betacam SP tape.
The UVW-1700P records exclusively on Betacam SP metal particle tapes and plays back both SP and original oxide Betacam cassettes in both L-size (100+ minutes at PAL speed) and S-size formats. Two longitudinal audio channels with Dolby C noise reduction are provided.
The deck features both RS-232C 25-pin and RS-422 9-pin interfaces, enabling control from both computer systems (for frame-by-frame recording) and professional editing equipment. Comprehensive I/O includes composite, S-Video, and switchable RGB/component connections, with an RGB sync input for direct connection to computer graphics outputs.
