Description

The Videonics Video EditMaker (EM-1) is an assembly editor designed for consumer video production. Released around 1993, it was positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Videonics ProED, accomplishing most of the same editing tasks using a wireless remote control miniature keypad instead of a full keyboard.

The EditMaker includes a built-in 12-style, 64-color titler and 22 graphics options in 64 colors. It also performs 27 special effects such as fades and wipes. The device supports Control-L and Control-M protocols for VCR control.

At its original retail price of approximately $700, the Video EditMaker offered prosumer editing capabilities at a consumer-friendly price point, making it popular among home video enthusiasts and small production operations.

A PAL version was also available.
