JVC VM-R140SU
Overview
The JVC VM-R140SU is a 14-inch multi-format professional color video monitor designed for broadcast and teleproduction applications. It uses a precision in-line shadow mask CRT with 0.435mm dot spacing, delivering more than 500 TV lines of resolution. The in-line tube design eliminates the need for convergence adjustments, reducing maintenance requirements.[1]
Video processing features include a wideband comb filter decoder, adjustable aperture correction, feedback clamps for brightness stability, and a continuously operational calibration pulse circuit for picture level stability. Professional monitoring capabilities include internal/external sync selection, normal/underscan switching, horizontal and vertical pulse cross display, a degauss switch, and full remote control with tally lamp support.[1]
The monitor offers extensive multi-format connectivity. Two composite NTSC inputs are provided on BNC with loop-through and switchable termination. A set of BNC connectors accepts either RGB (R/G/B) or component video (Y/R-Y/B-Y) with loop-through and switchable termination. A 7-pin Y/C 3.58 input provides S-Video connectivity, also with loop-through and switchable termination. Additional professional interfaces include an 8-pin VTR connector, a 12-pin Betacam component video input, and a 12-pin MII component video input. The unit is housed in a rugged metal cabinet and is mountable in a standard EIA 19" equipment rack.[1] The MSRP was $1,434.[2]
