LANC (Local Application Control Bus, also known as Control-L) is a serial communication protocol developed by Sony for controlling camcorders and related video equipment.
Overview
LANC provides bidirectional communication for remote control of recording, playback, and transport functions. It was widely adopted and became a de facto standard for camcorder control, used by Sony, Canon, and other manufacturers.
