The Toshiba MW24FM1 is a 24-inch television with a built-in VHS recorder and DVD player in a single cabinet.[1]
The flat picture tube measures 24 inches with a 600 mm visible diagonal and uses 101-degree deflection.[1] The tuner is a single frequency-synthesised US System M unit covering channels 2–69 plus the full cable plan through a 75-ohm F-type antenna input, with US-standard MTS stereo.[1] Two front-firing 45 × 100 mm (1.8 × 3.9 in) 8-ohm speakers are driven at 1.5 W per channel.[1]
The VHS deck records and plays in SP and SLP (EP) with Hi-Fi stereo audio; the DVD section plays DVD-Video, Video CD, CD-DA and CD-R/RW discs from a front-loading 120 mm/80 mm tray.[1] Toshiba quotes 400 lines of horizontal resolution in DVD mode against 220 lines from VHS in SP.[1] The set draws 135 W in use and 4 W in standby from a 120 V 60 Hz supply, and weighs 36 kg.[1]
