The Memorex MVD2009CB is a 9-inch NTSC colour television with a built-in DVD/CD player, able to run from either AC mains or 12 V DC.[1]
The CRT measures 9 inches (228.6 mm) with 90-degree deflection in a normal (non-flat) tube.[1] Horizontal resolution is 400 lines on the TV monitor and 500 lines at the video output, with a video signal-to-noise ratio of 65 dB.[1]
The tuner is a frequency-synthesised single tuner for the US System M with CATV, taking VHF/UHF on a 75-ohm input and covering channels 2–69 plus the cable maps. Intermediate frequencies are 45.75 MHz for picture, 41.25 MHz for sound and 4.50 MHz intercarrier, and US-Stereo (BTSC) reception with tuner sound muting is supported.[1]
Power comes from 120 V at 60 Hz or 12 V DC, drawing 55 W either way and 5 W in standby.[1]

The DVD section is a front-loading, three-motor deck with a 1-lens, 2-beam pickup, playing DVD, CD-DA and CD-R/RW discs in 120 mm and 80 mm sizes. Maximum playback time is 135 minutes for single-layer DVD (4.7 GB), 245 minutes for dual-layer (8.5 GB) and 74 minutes for CD.[1] Search runs at 2–15× in four steps for DVD and 2–20× in four steps for CD, with slow motion from 1/8 to 1/2 speed.[1]
DVD audio performance is quoted at 90 dB weighted signal-to-noise, 0.06% harmonic distortion at 1 kHz and a frequency response of 4 Hz–22 kHz, falling to 4 Hz–20 kHz for CD.[1] A digital audio output delivers 0.5 Vp-p into 75 ohms.[1]
Sound is stereo at 1.2 W per channel — 0.8 W per channel typical at 10% THD — through two side-mounted 3-inch 8-ohm speakers.[1] On-screen menus cover picture, bass, treble and balance, TV/CATV selection, channel add/delete and auto memory, V-Chip parental control, clock and on/off and sleep timers, closed caption and text, SAP and bilingual audio, and a Game mode; the DVD menus add subtitle, audio, TV screen size and Dynamic Range Control.[1]
