Description
The Sony VP-9000 is a U-matic player-only machine classified as a "Type 9" unit. It can play back tapes recorded in SP (Superior Performance), High Band, and Lo Band U-matic modes, providing 300-line horizontal resolution in SP mode, 260 lines in High Band, and 250 lines in Lo Band. The VP-9000 features a Dolby noise reduction system for improved audio quality, achieving better than 52dB audio signal-to-noise ratio in SP mode. Video output is provided via BNC with a 7-pin dubbing output for direct Y/C signal transfer. The unit also includes an RF off-tape output, external sync input, and balanced line audio outputs at +4dBm via 600Ω. A headphone output and monitor output are also provided.
