Description

The Sony VP-7040 is a U-matic player classified as a "Type 7" unit. It handles PAL, SECAM, and NTSC playback with 250-line colour horizontal resolution and a video signal-to-noise ratio better than 45dB. Like its sibling the VP-7030, the VP-7040 incorporates Frame Code for absolute addressing and supports sophisticated programming functions including random access and programmable repeated playback. The unit supports RS-232C connection via an optional BKU-701 Computer Interface Board for external computer control, and an optional BKU-702 interface for 33-pin parallel remote control. A USA model variant operates at 100-120V AC. The VP-7040 supports automatic start/stop with AC on/off timers and can be controlled via an optional RM-770 infrared remote.
