DVB-T2
DVB-T2 (Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial, Second Generation) is the successor to DVB-T, offering improved efficiency and support for HDTV and UHDTV broadcasting. It began deployment around 2009–2010.

- Video codecs: H.264/AVC (primary), HEVC/H.265 (for UHD)
- Audio codec: HE-AAC, Dolby Digital Plus
- Resolutions: Up to 1080p, 4K UHD in some implementations
- Transmission: COFDM with improved modulation
- Channel bandwidth: 6, 7, or 8 MHz
- Capacity: 30–50% more efficient than DVB-T
Relevance to CRT televisions
DVB-T2 deployment began late in the CRT era, so very few CRT televisions include built-in DVB-T2 tuners. Most CRT owners in DVB-T2 regions use external set-top boxes connected via composite, S-Video, or SCART.
