Description

The Videonics MX-1 Digital Video Mixer is a four-input video production switcher, mixer, frame synchronizer/TBC (time base corrector) and special effects generator designed for consumer and prosumer video production.

The MX-1 allows users to cut, wipe, or dissolve between any of four video inputs using over 210 digital video effects. Its built-in frame synchronizer and dual-field infinite-window TBC ensure clean transitions and rock-solid output even when input sources have faulty time base. The device meets RS-170A standards and FCC broadcast specifications.

A unique preview screen feature shows miniature copies of all four inputs simultaneously, allowing operation with just one or two monitors. The compose feature enables combining video stills, color shapes, and moving video on one screen.

The MX-1 processes video at 13.5 MHz with 8-bit resolution using 4:2:2 sampling with 4× subcarrier oversampling.

In addition to the four video input channels, the MX-1 provides a dedicated auxiliary stereo audio input (RCA) for mixing additional audio sources.

A PAL version was also available.
