RGB/Component
Component (YPbPr) (BNC, Mono audio via RCA (connector))
R-Y/Y/B-Y on the same BNC trio as RGB. Component needs a service-menu phase adjustment on the Pr channel.
Line A
S-Video (Y/C) (Mini-DIN-4, Mono audio via RCA (connector))
Loop-through with automatic 75-ohm termination. Takes priority over the Line A composite input when both are connected.
RGB/Component
RGBS (BNC, Mono audio via RCA (connector))
Sync is supplied on the external sync BNC — 4.0 Vp-p ±6 dB composite, or 0.6 Vp-p ±6 dB tri-level.
Line A
Composite (CVBS) (BNC, Mono audio via RCA (connector))
1.0 Vp-p +3/-6 dB, sync negative, loop-through with automatic 75-ohm termination.
RGB/Component
RGsB (BNC, Mono audio via RCA (connector))
R/R-Y, G/Y and B/B-Y at 0.7 Vp-p +3/-6 dB with 0.3 Vp-p sync on green.
Line B
Composite (CVBS) (BNC, Mono audio via RCA (connector))
1.0 Vp-p, sync negative, loop-through with automatic 75-ohm termination.

S-Video (Y/C) (Mini-DIN-4)
Loop-through of the Line A Y/C input.
Ext. sync OUT
Composite (CVBS) (BNC)
Loop-through of the external sync input, automatic 75-ohm termination.

The Sony PVM-14L2 is a 14-inch professional video monitor from Sony's L-series, launched in 2002 alongside the 20-inch PVM-20L2 and 9-inch PVM-9L2.[1] The L-series was the last line of professional CRT monitors Sony produced, built on a chassis redesigned from the preceding M-series.[2]

Its Trinitron tube (Sony part M34KBE11X) has a 0.25 mm aperture grille pitch, P-22 phosphor and 90-degree deflection, giving an effective picture of 267.5 × 200.6 mm — a 340 mm (13.4-inch) diagonal — and 600 TV lines of resolution.[1][2] Convergence is specified at 0.4 mm typical at centre and 0.5 mm at the periphery, linearity under 4 % in both axes, and high-voltage regulation at 3.5 %.[1]

The monitor is a fixed-frequency 15 kHz design, locking to 15.734 kHz for NTSC and 15.625 kHz for PAL, with 7 % overscan in normal scan and 5 % underscan in underscan mode.[1] Colour temperature offers D65, D93 and a user-adjustable setting.[1]

Unlike the M-series, the L-series takes a universal 100–240 V supply at 50/60 Hz. The 14L2 draws 75 W, or 86 W with a BMK-150CP option fitted.[1]

Features

All video inputs are loop-through pairs with automatic 75-ohm termination.[1] Line A carries both a composite BNC and a Y/C mini-DIN, with the Y/C input taking priority over composite when both are connected; Line B is composite only.[1] The RGB/Component BNC trio accepts analog RGB with 0.3 Vp-p sync on green or R-Y/Y/B-Y component, and the external sync BNC accepts a 4.0 Vp-p composite reference or a 0.6 Vp-p tri-level sync signal.[1]

A single option slot takes Sony BKM-series cards — SDI input, or the BKM-129X for an extra RGB input, which is scarce enough that reverse-engineered aftermarket copies are sold.[2] Remote control is over an assignable 8-pin modular parallel remote connector.[1] Audio output is 0.8 W with under 5 % distortion.[1]

Two quirks are worth knowing: the on-screen menu will sometimes refuse to display while the monitor is scanning 240p, and component input needs a service-menu adjustment to correct a phase error on the Pr signal.[2]
