JVC TM-R9U
Overview
The JVC TM-R9U is a 9-inch professional color monitor designed for broadcast and studio environments. It features a 0.47mm dot pitch in-line picture tube with a resolution of more than 310 TV lines, a color demodulator, comb filter, and a pedestal clamp system for suppressing black level variations.[1]
The monitor provides two selectable loop-through composite video inputs with 75Ω termination, switchable from the front panel or via an external remote control connection. A dedicated loop-through external sync input is also provided. Professional monitoring features include pulse cross display for inspecting blanking intervals, underscan mode (front panel or remote controlled), a blue check circuit for color bar adjustment, and a color off switch for white balance setup. A tally lamp can be driven from an external switcher via the rear-panel remote connector.[1]
The TM-R9U operates on either AC 120V or DC 12/24V power, making it suitable for both studio rack installations and portable field use. Rear panel controls include a skew switch for correcting horizontal deflection time constant during video tape playback and a manual degauss switch (automatic degaussing also occurs at power-on). Front panel adjustments feature detent presets that can be set with a screwdriver. The monitor is housed in a rugged metal cabinet and can be mounted in a standard 19" equipment rack using the optional RK9U rack mount kit, which supports side-by-side dual mounting or pairing with a waveform monitor via the ADP9U adaptor.[1] The MSRP was $741.[2]
