Description

The JVC AV-27D202 is a 27-inch CRT television from JVC's D-Series lineup, released in 2001. This middle-era D-Series model uses the GE chassis with the Toshiba TB1253AN jungle IC.

The D-Series was renowned for its excellent picture quality and comprehensive feature set, making it a popular choice for retro gaming.

Tube Identification

The tube brand can be identified by the letter beside the serial number on the model tag:

  • R - RCA/Thomson (A68ADT25X) - "bubble curve" tube
  • S - Samsung (A68QDN891X) - generally preferred by enthusiasts

Technical Notes

  • Uses middle-era D-Series chassis (Dx02) with Toshiba TB1253AN jungle
  • Can be RGB modded via OSD mux method
  • 3-line comb filter for improved composite video quality
  • 1.2W speakers per channel (cost reduction from earlier 27" models)
  • 27" models from 2001 onwards lack E/W circuit for full geometry adjustment
  • PAL video can be enabled by setting "V 48HZ" to 0 in service menu

  • Set CD MATRIX to "000"

For component input:
