The Sony KV-13TR28 is a 13-inch Hi-Black Trinitron colour television for the North American market, built on Sony's BA-71 chassis platform. US sets carry chassis number SCC-F78D-A and Canadian sets SCC-F79C-A.[1] The same service manual covers the KV-13TR29 and the export KV-1430R and KV-1440WR; the wider BA-71 series also includes the KV-20TR23, KV-20TS29, KV-20TS32, KV-21STR2, KV-2170RS, KV-2150R and KV-2160WR.[1]
The picture measures 13 inches diagonally on a 14-inch Hi-Black Trinitron tube.[1] The tuner covers VHF 2–13, UHF 14–69 and cable channels 1–125 via a 75-ohm antenna terminal.[1] Audio is mono: a single 80 mm full-range driver rated 1 W into 16 ohms, with a 50 Hz – 20 kHz response.[1]
The set draws 85 W in use and 4 W in standby from a 120 V 60 Hz supply, measures 372 × 339 × 408 mm (w/h/d) and weighs 11.2 kg.[1] A Remote Commander RM-Y116, dipole antenna and antenna connector were supplied.[1]
