Description

The Digital Processing Systems DPS-245 is a quad framestore and synchronizer designed for applications requiring the display of multiple full-bandwidth still video images from a single source. It provides four independent framestores in one compact chassis, each with its own four-field freeze memory and independent freeze capability.

The unit accepts a single loop-through composite video input and distributes it to four independent output channels, each capable of freezing a separate frame. A fifth preview output allows monitoring of any of the four main channels and can also be routed back to the input, enabling a frozen image to be adjusted using the built-in proc amp controls.

By connecting a color black signal to the reference video input, the DPS-245 can function as a real-time video synchronizer. All four main outputs conform to the RS-170A standard.

The digital proc amp section provides comprehensive signal adjustment with 10 presettable non-volatile memories for instant recall of configurations. Remote control is available via RS-232 and RS-422 serial interfaces, and a GPI port is provided for external triggering.

The DPS-245 is well suited for graphics store applications, multi-monitor display systems, and any environment requiring computer-controlled display of multiple frozen video images. It was introduced at NAB and was initially priced at $4,995.95 (later advertised at $6,495 by Midwest Communications Corp.).
