The JVC AV-24F704 is a 24-inch flat-screen CRT television manufactured in 2003. It is part of JVC's I'Art series and was manufactured by Orion in Thailand. This model is essentially a rebadged Toshiba 24AF43 with compatibility for JVC remotes.

The AV-24F704 features a flat screen design and supports both 240p and 480i resolutions. Despite being a JVC-branded product, it was manufactured by Orion and shares its design with the Toshiba 24AF43.
Picture Quality Issues
This model is known to have several picture quality issues due to its Renesas video processing chip:
- Misaligned chroma
- Red push (excessive red color saturation)
- Black crush (loss of shadow detail)
- Unavoidable video motion (VM) processing
Service Menu Adjustments
To improve the picture quality without modifications:
- Reduce color saturation in the standard menu to counteract red push
- Increase RGB cutoffs in the service menu to reduce black crush
- VM can be disabled by unplugging a jumper from the neckboard
RGB Modification
The AV-24F704 is RGB moddable, which is the recommended solution to bypass all the problematic video processing. An RGB mod will eliminate the chroma misalignment, red push, and black crush issues inherent to the Renesas processor.
