Overview
The JVC AV-2556 is a 25-inch color monitor/receiver built on JVC's FX-Mark II chassis, an improved version of the FX chassis with frequency synthesizer tuning.[1] It features MTS/SAP compatibility for stereo and bilingual broadcast reception, a comb filter for improved color fidelity and resolution, and a built-in 142-channel frequency synthesizer tuner with direct cable reception of Mid, Sub-Mid, Super, and Hyper bands.[1]
The AV-2556 includes a unified TV/VCR remote control with 10-key random-access channel selection, along with AV input, line output, and variable audio output terminals for AV system integration.[1] Built-in stereo speakers are supplemented by terminals for external speaker connection. A three-color on-screen display shows channel, video and broadcast modes, audio level, and timer settings.[1]
The set offers a three-hour sleep timer adjustable in ten-minute increments and a 12-hour ON timer for automatic on/off switching, along with three-way tuning: CHOICE (five channel presets), RETURN (toggle between two most recent channels), and AUTO CHANNEL-UP (continuous ascending scan).[1] A combination rabbit ears and loop antenna is included for VHF and UHF reception.
The original MSRP was $729.[1]
