The Sony EVM-8010R is an 8" portable Trinitron color video monitor with a built-in Video8 (8mm) VCR, manufactured by Sony circa 1989. Marketed as a "Video 8 Combo," it was designed for professional field use such as on-location video playback, helicopter camera monitoring, and ENG (electronic news gathering) applications.

The monitor section features an 8-inch Trinitron aperture grille CRT with composite video inputs and outputs via both BNC and RCA connectors. The built-in Video8 deck can play and record standard 8mm video tapes but is not compatible with Hi8 or Digital8 formats. An insert editing feature is included for basic in-camera editing workflows.

The EVM-8010R supports three-way power: AC mains (120V), external 12V DC, or dual Sony NP-1 rechargeable batteries with a built-in charger (45W max during charging). This versatile power system made it well-suited for field production where mains power was unavailable.

Front-panel controls include volume, picture, hue, color, brightness, and vertical hold adjustments. A headphone jack is provided for private monitoring. The unit was manufactured in the USA.
