|description=The Sony SL-T9 was the international multi-standard version of the SL-C7 top-loader, released in late 1981. It could record and play in both PAL and SECAM, and also play back NTSC 4.43 (a PAL-compatible form of NTSC — not American NTSC 3.58). Notably, the SL-T9 added a long-play mode similar to NTSC Beta III speed, which was unusual for PAL Betamax machines (most PAL VCRs recorded at only one speed, similar to NTSC Beta II). Like the SL-C7, it featured linear stereo sound, BetaScan picture search, full infrared remote control, and a camera K-connector. It shared the "C" chassis with the SL-C5, SL-C7, and SL-T7 series. Variants included the SL-T9 (base), SL-T9ME (Middle East), and SL-T9MER. | |||
