The ViewSonic P225f was the flagship of ViewSonic's Professional Series CRT monitor lineup, aimed at demanding users in pre-press, imaging, desktop publishing, 3D modeling, CAD/CAM, and graphic design. It featured a 22-inch (20-inch viewable) PerfectFlat CRT, which was based on the Mitsubishi DiamondTron NF aperture grille tube — the same technology found in Mitsubishi's own Diamond Pro 2060u.[1]

The P225f supported a maximum resolution of 2048 × 1536 at 79 Hz, with a horizontal scan rate of 30–127 kHz and a video input bandwidth of 340 MHz (typical).[2] At the common professional working resolution of 1600 × 1200, Tom's Hardware measured it achieving 105.2 Hz — the highest refresh rate in their seven-monitor comparison test.[1]

The tube used a 0.24 mm aperture grille with uni-pitch and an ARAG (anti-reflection, anti-glare) screen coating to reduce reflections and eye strain.[2] The monitor offered dual video inputs: a standard 15-pin mini D-sub (VGA) connector and five BNC connectors for RGBHV, supporting H/V separate sync, composite sync, and sync-on-green.[2] It did not include a USB hub, though ViewSonic offered a four-port hub as an optional accessory that fit into a recessed compartment on the monitor.[1]

The P225f featured on-screen display controls (branded "OnView") for adjusting contrast, brightness, H/V position, H/V size, zoom, and pincushion geometry. It supported a universal AC power supply rated at 90–260V, 50–60 Hz, with typical power consumption of 130W.[2] The monitor was TCO'03, Energy Star, and VESA DPMS compliant and carried a three-year limited warranty.
