Description
The FOR-A FA-125 is a compact, economical 10-bit time base corrector and frame synchronizer introduced as part of the FA-115 series in 2003. It accepts both analog composite and Y/C (S-Video) signals and outputs processed composite and Y/C video.
The FA-125 corrects by up to one full frame the time base error and phase shift problems that can occur during recording and playback of composite signals when using heterodyne process VTRs. Internal signal processing uses 4:2:2 component format with 10-bit quantization.
Full frame memory prevents picture field inversion during signal processing. The unit features cable compensation for maintaining signal quality over long cable runs, as well as SC (subcarrier) phase adjustment for precise color timing.
The FA-125 was part of FOR-A's strategy to offer compact, economical TBCs applying the digital technologies developed for the FA-350 series. A modular version (UFM-125TBC) was also available for installation in FOR-A's universal frame system.
