Prime Image 50II
1×Component (YPbPr) (BNC)
Description
The Prime Image 50II (also marketed as the TBC/Freeze II) is a professional digital time base corrector and frame synchronizer for composite and Y/C (S-Video) video signals. It supports both NTSC (525-line) and PAL (625-line) operation, as well as PAL-M.
The unit provides full transcoding between composite, Y/C, and Y/R-Y/B-Y component signals, with each input independently adjustable through the front panel processing amplifier. Digitization is performed at 8-bit precision conforming to CCIR-601 (4:2:2). At 5.5 MHz bandwidth it offers improved high-frequency response compared to earlier Prime Image TBC designs.
Features include AGC (switchable on/off), vertical color advance selectable at 1, 2, or 3 lines, horizontal chroma-to-luma timing adjustment, and three-level detail enhancement. The unit supports ultra-stable freeze (frame or field) and variable rate strobe. A composite auto-bypass is provided in case of AC power or power supply failure.
An optional RS-232 interface (25-pin D connector) is available for external control. A 3/4 DUB cable option (designated "-C Cable") is available for connecting 3/4-inch U-matic color-under decks.
The 50II occupies a single rack unit (1U) in a standard 19-inch rack.
