Description
The Panasonic DMR-E55 is a consumer DVD recorder released in 2004. It contains a Panasonic MN85573 video processing IC with integrated frame synchronization capabilities.[1]
Like other models in the Panasonic DMR series, the DMR-E55 can be used as a passthrough TBC for analog video digitization. Community testing has placed it in Tier 2 — still useful for removing tearing and flagging, but clearly underperforming the Panasonic DMR-ES10 and other Tier 1/1.5 models in A/B comparisons.
The DMR-E55 was produced in both PAL and PAL-M regional variants. PAL variants include the DMR-E55EB, DMR-E55EG, DMR-E55EBL, and DMR-E55EP. The Brazilian PAL-M variant is the DMR-E55PL.
